Central College honored faculty members with awards at the 2011 faculty recognition reception May 2.

• Dr. John Wesselink Awards for Outstanding Performance
• Professional Growth and Development — Cathy Haustein ’76, professor of chemistry; Alida Droppert, assistant professor of education
• Effective Teaching — Elena Vishnevskaya, assistant professor of religion
• Institutional Service — Brian Peterson, associate professor of economics
• Hutch Bearce Community Building and Faculty Leadership Award — Ann Wilkinson, instructor of theatre
• Huffman Award for Outstanding Support of International Education — John Roslien, associate professor of exercise science
• David Crichton Memorial Award — Keith Jones, associate professor of psychology

This year’s faculty retirees were Dale DeWild, professor of sociology; Jann Freed ’77, professor of business management; Ed Willis, professor of psychology.

Three faculty members were inducted into the Heritage Club for 25 years of service: Anne Petrie, professor of music; John Roslien, associate professor of exercise science; and Val Van Kooten, adjunct instructor of English.
